Let me use this sentimental song named "Travelling" (from one of my favorite singers - Xu Wei ) to start the new year's first post.
The song was repeatedly played in my car when I was driving Melissa down to Heathrow airport. The more I sang with the song, the more unwillingness I felt to let her go.
She came over from Hong Kong to Sheffield for Christmas holiday with me. We spent really wonderful days driving and shopping around. Also had very good time at friend's home. But in the end, there was farewell to face.
Life is like travelling. I only hope on this long way, we will always be together.
I was back yesterday from a 10 days conference holiday in Greece. Conference Holiday, is named by me. The reason is that it seems very popular in academe to choose conference venues in those beautiful and comfortable tourism places, where people go for holiday. To some extend, the purpose of academic conferences is widely regarded to provide a chance for all hard working researchers to meet friends, relax, and enjoy life.
For me, this conference was for the European Control Conference 2007 and the holiday was for me and Melissa having a so called 'Honeymoon' trip before she leaves the UK. Kos island, as the host of the conference, is one of the largest islands in Greece, closely located near to Turkey. Some people think Kos as paradise since it's got beautiful beaches, relaxant atmosphere and many more to enjoy and explore.
Founded by a German doctor in 1907 in Shanghai, Tongji Univeristy has owned 100 years history. Today, 20 May, is the official celebration day of the university.
The Centenary Ceremony of Tongji University is highlighted on the top place on the homepage of Sina, the largest news & media portal website in China. Alumni from all over the world today gathered in the campus and shared the tremendous happiness.
As a graduate of Tongji University, I have spent nearly seven years there. Most of important and beautiful things in my life happened in Tongji. What the feeling at the moment! I love you, Tongji, Happy Birthday!!!
I will be always proud of you and never give up dreams, together with you!
