Big Argument Motivated In Celebrity Big Brother PDF Print E-mail
Written by Len Bai
Friday, 19 January 2007

The argument about racial bullying emerged in Channel 4's Celebrity Big Brother has been really heated in the past two days. Celebrity Big Brother is one of the most famous TV programme in Britain, which present live show of people from different places, staying in a closed house for over three months. During the show, there is no communications between the Big Brother house and the outside world.

The hot public debate was motivated by the unfair and rude treatment against to an Indian actress Shilpa Shetty, primarily made by Jade Goody who rose to fame in the non-celebrity version of Big Brother in 2002 and was ever a British singer. The behaviour of Jade was deemed as racism, which was severely protested by abroad Indian audience and Bitish public as well. Consequently, British politicans including Tony Blair and Gorden Brown have claimed that Britain will never be tolerant to any forms of racism.

Storm, Gale, Gust And Strong Wind Hit The UK PDF Print E-mail
Written by Len Bai
Thursday, 18 January 2007

I have never seen such strong wind in my life until I was pushed forward by the 'wind' this morning. The wind forced me to walk and I almost had no choice except moving my legs. It may be the first time that I felt exactly the power of the nature. But why the nature did this to human beings?

As reported by BBC, eleven people have died during the strike of the wind. Some of them were killed by falling branches even walls. And public transport has been severely disrupted. BBC used various words such as storm, gale and gust to stand for the 'wind'. Many people's lives were affected accordingly. A bad news to my friend Bernard was that flights in Manchester airport were cancelled.

Tiffany Flagship Store In London Old Bond Street PDF Print E-mail
Written by Len Bai

We went to London on Monday yesterday to buy some presents for ourselves and friends in China. The transport was National Express coach. The coach was very comfortable with leather seats and large space. It took about four hours from Sheffield Interchange to London Vitoria Coach Station.

Our main destination was Tiffany flagship store, which was located on the Old Bond street. The street seemed like a jewelry shopping area where you could find some world top brands of jewelry. Since we had looked through the Tiffany website and got two rings in mind, only a few minutes were spent in the store and we bought two very nice rings.

China Search Engine Market In 2007 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Len Bai
Sunday, 14 January 2007

On the New Year Day of 2007,  Sohu.com, one of the top three Chinese portal sites, launched its newly upgraded search engine Sogou version 3.0. This symbolised that battles on the China search market in the new year have been started.

China's search market has been dominated by Baidu and Google since 2003. These two companies in combination account for nearly 90% of China's online searching market, in which Baidu has got the largest share of 56.6 percent of the total market and Google ranks the second with a share of 32.8 percent. Yahoo! is in the third position, but it's only got less than 5 percent market share, leading all the other minor players on the search engine market.

My Website In 2003 Has Been Recovered Online PDF Print E-mail
Written by Len Bai
Saturday, 13 January 2007

The site was built up with ASP + Microsoft Access Database. I searched around on Internet for free ASP hosting space, but didn't get anything good. In order to present the site in three years ago, I therefore decided to convert all asp files to php so that I could host it on my current linux space.

It didn't take too long to do the conversion work since the site was not big anyway. One pity is that the files which I got on my hard disk are not the latest ones. So some sections on the site such as Experience and Favorite are missing. In fact in the Experience section, I listed all my past IT projects with descriptions, images, and demo systems. But now they are all gone and there seems no way for me to get them back. What a pity.

The site can be viewed at http://www.bailianjun.com/forerunner-net/default.php
