The flat cleaning last night brought us from the old year to the new year 2007. We cleaned every room comprehensively and threw out all the rubbish. In Chinese, it meant 'Ci Jiu Ying Xin'. To say farewell to the past welcomes a new start.
Often times people make wishes at a start point. Here I also make two wishes at the first day of the year.

Today is the 31st of December, the last day in 2006. I was working in Chinese Fireworks, with Melissa, Paul, Mark, John, and of course Shay, the owner of the company and his dad Ken, a very very kind senior.
We actually have turned the boss-staff relationship into a sort of friendship with Shay and his families. I didn't feel that I was working for him. It's like to do a lovely favour to a friend. The work was easy and interesting. The new year's atmosphere was full of the store, accompanied by the sound of fireworks, the festival music, the smile on everybody's face.

A very funny thing happened at my very close mate Bernard's home. Being back to Sheffield from Edinburgh, we were invited by Bernard to have his new cooking 'salad potato' and a kind of soup especially for winter. The food was delicious and Bernard seemed to be a good man taking very good care of his girlfriend Lijun who travelled from Malaysia to the UK. After we finished the dinner, Bernard began to show off some cheap goods from his fridge. An outstanding one was a nice looking 'Christmas Cake' which was only 50p, discounted from 4.99 pounds. What a Bargain! We all wowed and expected to taste... Be first to comment this article | Add as favourites (15) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 3494 |

After one year's hard working on her Master's studies, Melissa has got the degree of Master of Arts in Commercial Property, from The University of Sheffield. Nobody knows, except herself, how much sweat and tears was paid out behind that piece of certificate which seems light, but very heavy indeed.
The ceremony started from 3:30pm in Octagon Centre. Before that, we first went to Firth Court to get her gown. We were very pleased by the well prepared services during the whole graduation ceremony process provided by the university. Nearly every support staff kindly smiled to us and congratulated to her. The atmoshpere was really warm and harmonic. Bernard and Dong were helping us to take photos around the student union, arts tower, town and regional planning department, and everywhere she has ever been during the past year.
