The real city centre of Edinburgh is not big, which only consists of several main streets like Princess street, High street and Queen street. The style of the city's architecture is quite different from others in England's cities. Most buildings are very old and you would have a feeling that you were back to centuries years ago. The scottish culture was everywhere in the city, not only from buildings, but from people, language, clothing, music, food, street decoration etc... The word 'Pre-Honeymoon' was said by Lijun. I like this word indeed though I didn't want to intentionally make it. Actually I prepared a ring to propose in Edinburgh. In the Christmas Eve, the Princess street was the most romantic place made by beautiful street lamps, razzles and a colourful lightening wheel. When we walked down to the wheel. The moment was very like the scene in the film 'Serendipity' while some people were skating down in the Princess Street Garden. I then made my proposal there. I hope I was not like a fool at that second. A nicer 'proposal' photo was taken in the morning on the Christmas Day, on the square in front of Edinburgh Castle. Boxing Day was same in each city. People were all around. This year's star should be 'Next' since it seemed that everybody was taking a 'Next' bag. Back to Sheffiled on the 27th. On the way back, we saw sea very closely from the train. What a lovely trip. Thanks Bernard and Lijun for sharing three fantastic days with us. I am now looking forward to the next holiday trip. As I wished before, we have had a very merry Christmas in Edinburgh. Because of the closure of most places (especially some travel agencies) during the holiday, we had to stay in the city. There's a bit pity that we couldn't go to High Land. But on the other hand, we had plenty of time to hang around within the city and stop at every point as long as we liked. We didn't have to rush from one place to another. I like this kind of 'slow travel', not just look and go.
