There is a Chinese buffet restaurant called 'china china' in Edinburgh. It's located in OMNI centre where is opposite to John Lewis near the Princess street. We went there twice. The first time, we had hotpot buffet. It's £11.99 per person plus 15% service charge. All vegetables and meats are included in the price, as well as the first seafood. The seafood ordered afterwards and drinks need to be paid as extra. The food was alright and it was very nice to have hotpot in such a cold winter night in Edinburgh.
The thing that I want to mention here is the second time when we went to the 'china china' restaurant. The lunch time price is £5.49 per person from 3:00pm--5:00pm. We went in at about 3:30 and finished at 5:30. When checking out, we were told the price per person was upto £8.99 which was the happy hour price. They showed me the sign outside the door, saying that the price was applied on the departure time, not the 'Coming In' time. This sounds really ridiculous as all other Chinese buffet restaurants that I've ever been make the price based on the customers' 'Coming In' time. There's no point to argue. We had to pay. It's not much money. But a lesson has to be remembered. That is 'Dont take for granted, a rule that you know well in one place is not always applicable everywhere'. So, do ask to make clear when you are new to something...
